How ScanWow Processes Your Documents

By default, ScanWow uses AI-powered cloud OCR (Magic Cloud) for the best text recognition accuracy. Your scans are sent securely to our servers for processing and are not stored—processing is real-time only. You can switch to fully on-device processing anytime in Settings.

Document Processing

Cloud OCR (Magic Cloud) — Default

When Magic Cloud is enabled (the default setting), your scanned document images are:

On-Device Processing — Your Choice

You can disable Magic Cloud in Settings to use fully on-device OCR. When disabled, your documents never leave your device. All processing happens locally using Tesseract.js.

Data Security

All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. Our servers are hosted on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure. Document images are processed in memory and not written to persistent storage.

Children's Privacy

ScanWow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
