Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ScanWow mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Use of the App

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
Scan or process documents you do not have the right to access or copy
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App
Use the App to transmit malware or other harmful code

Your Documents and Content

Regarding documents you scan with ScanWow:

You retain full ownership of your documents and scanned content
You are responsible for the legality and appropriateness of documents you scan
ScanWow does not review, approve, or endorse any user content
You agree not to use ScanWow to scan copyrighted materials without authorization
We are not responsible for the content of your scanned documents

OCR Service Accuracy

ScanWow's optical character recognition (OCR) service is provided on a "best effort" basis. While we strive for high accuracy:

OCR results may contain errors, especially with handwritten text, unusual fonts, or poor image quality
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of extracted text before relying on it for important purposes
ScanWow is not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in OCR output
OCR accuracy may vary based on document quality, lighting conditions, and language

Cloud Processing Service

When Magic Cloud (AI-powered OCR) is enabled:

Your document images are transmitted securely to our servers for processing
Images are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers
Cloud processing depends on internet connectivity and server availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of cloud services
You may switch to on-device processing at any time in Settings

For fully offline operation, disable Magic Cloud in the app settings. On-device processing uses Tesseract.js and does not require internet connectivity.

Purchase and Payments

One-Time Purchase

ScanWow is available as a one-time purchase of $4.99 (USD). This purchase grants you lifetime access to all features of the App. There are no subscriptions or recurring fees.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their App Store policies. Contact Apple Support to request a refund for any App Store purchase.

Third-Party Services

ScanWow uses the following third-party services:

Google Gemini - AI-powered OCR processing (when Magic Cloud is enabled)
RevenueCat - Purchase and subscription management
Apple App Store - Payment processing and app distribution

Your use of ScanWow is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We do not guarantee the accuracy of OCR text extraction or any other output generated by the App.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanWow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

Additionally:

ScanWow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app
We are not responsible for data loss - you should maintain backups of important documents

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
