Insurance document scanner
Open enrollment means new cards, plan PDFs, EOBs and the 1095-A. ScanWow turns it all into searchable PDFs, read on your device, free to try and $4.99 once for Pro in the US.
Dates from HealthCare.gov. If your state runs its own Marketplace, check its site for its dates.
Your scans are not stored on our servers, and there is no account to create. With Pro, turn on Automatic iCloud Backup in Settings to back up your scans to your own iCloud, ready to restore on a new iPhone or iPad. You can also save any PDF to iCloud Drive with Save to Files.
Only when you share or export it, back it up to your own iCloud (Pro), send it with Secure API Export, or tap Magic Enhance, which sends that page for AI cleanup. Turn off Magic Cloud in Settings to keep text work on your device. See the private scanner page.
Download is free. Your first 3 documents are free. A multi-page scan counts as one document, and so does a photo or PDF import. Text recognition, search, and searchable PDF export are included for everyone.
ScanWow Pro is $4.99 once in the US (the App Store shows your local price). Pro adds unlimited scans, Automatic iCloud Backup to your own iCloud, and 1,000 Magic Enhance credits. No monthly fee. See full pricing.
Yes. Scan the front and the back in one session and ScanWow saves them as one 2-page document. It finds the card edges and crops for you, and reads the text on your device, so you can later search for the card by your plan name or member ID.
Yes. Text recognition runs automatically after each scan, so you can search inside your EOBs in ScanWow by a provider, a date of service or a claim number. From version 3.0.5, the PDFs you export are searchable too, in the Files app, Google Drive and any PDF reader, when a page has recognized text.
Import them. ScanWow imports PDFs from Files and turns each page into part of a document, then reads it like any scan. When you export, each page gets one text layer, so a downloaded plan comparison PDF or a 1095-A from your Marketplace account sits next to your paper scans and is searchable the same way.
On your iPhone. Your scans are not stored on our servers, and there is no account to create. With Pro, turn on Automatic iCloud Backup in Settings to back up your scans to your own iCloud, ready to restore on a new iPhone or iPad. You can also save any PDF to iCloud Drive with Save to Files.
Only when you choose. A page leaves your phone when you share or export it, back it up to your own iCloud (Pro), send it with Secure API Export, or tap Magic Enhance, which sends that page for AI cleanup. To keep every page on your device, turn off Magic Cloud in Settings and leave iCloud Backup and Secure API Export off. Text recognition keeps working on your device.
No. ScanWow is a scanner. It keeps your insurance paperwork readable and searchable, but it does not compare plans, check coverage or give insurance, tax or health advice. For plans and dates, use HealthCare.gov or your state Marketplace.
