Caregiver paperwork
While you are home for Thanksgiving, scan each insurance card, Medicare statement and benefit letter into a searchable PDF, or import the emailed copy, and find it later by the plan or parent name. Free to try, and $4.99 once for Pro in the US.
Tap + and scan the insurance card, the Medicare statement or the benefit letter. For an emailed one, open the PDF from Mail or Files, or import a photo from Photos.
ScanWow reads every word on the page on your iPhone. Check the member name and plan name, copy the text if you need it, and rename the scan with the parent and the year if you like.
Search for the parent name, the plan name, the member ID or an amount. Select the documents you need and export them as one searchable PDF for you or a counselor.
Medicare.gov says Open Enrollment happens from October 15 to December 7 and is the time each year when you can make changes to your coverage. Scan the current card and letters now so you can find them when the new plan mail arrives.
Medicare.gov lists January 1 of next year as when Open Enrollment changes take effect, and the plan must get your enrollment request by December 7. Keep the papers you used to decide in one searchable place.
Medicare.gov says that during Open Enrollment you can join, drop or switch a Medicare Advantage Plan with or without drug coverage, or join, drop or switch a Medicare drug plan if you are in Original Medicare. Your options depend on the coverage you have now.
Medicare.gov also says you can switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan or from a Medicare Advantage Plan to Original Medicare. This page does not say which option is right for anyone. Check with the plan or a counselor.
This page is not benefits or legal advice. Medicare rules and plan details can change, so check the latest information on Medicare.gov, check with the plan, and talk with a counselor about your own situation.
ScanWow keeps a clean, searchable copy of every insurance card, Medicare statement and benefit letter, and gives you PDFs to hand to a family member or a counselor. From version 3.0.5, exported PDFs carry the recognized text, so Files can search inside them too.
It is not a Medicare plan finder, and it does not enroll anyone, compare plan benefits or give legal advice. It does not pull member IDs into forms or call a plan for you.
An insurance card carries a member ID, so where it goes matters. ScanWow reads the text on your iPhone, and your scans are not stored on our servers. A page is only sent for AI cleanup when you tap Magic Enhance on it. See the private scanner page for details.
With Pro, Automatic iCloud Backup saves your scans to your own iCloud account, not ours. A new device signed in with that Apple Account restores them when you install ScanWow.
Download is free, and your first 3 documents are free. A multi-page scan counts as one document, and so does a photo or PDF import. Text recognition, search, and searchable PDF export are included for everyone.
ScanWow Pro is $4.99 once in the US (the App Store shows your local price). Pro adds unlimited scans, Automatic iCloud Backup to your own iCloud, and 1,000 Magic Enhance credits. No monthly fee. See full pricing.

Search for the parent name, the plan name, the member ID or any word on the page. ScanWow reads the text on every scan, and search in the app matches those words plus the document name. Then select the documents you need and export them as one PDF.
ScanWow keeps a readable copy you can search and export as a PDF. It does not decide what a plan, Medicare or a counselor accepts, and it does not enroll anyone in a plan. Keep the originals you are told to keep, and check with the plan or a counselor about your own situation.
